The micro mosaic created exclusively for Dolce&Gabbana eyewear collection Spring 2014 involves masterly expertise in the spinning of Murano glass

Benvenuta Primavera! per l inizio di questa nuova stagione ho scelto la bellissima e preziosa collezione di Dolce&Gabbana, di cui vi ho presentato una anteprima nel post Mido del 25 Febbario scorso) è realizzata a mano da abili artigiani del micromosaico, ovvero dell'arte di inserire micro tessere su micro tessere filati con la tecnica del vetro di Murano, ed incastonati sulla montatura
Creando vere e proprie opere d'Arte.  Questa arte risale che  all'antica Roma, richiede che il vetro venga prima filato in sottili bacchette da cui poi vengono ricavate le minuscole tessere per comporre il mosaico

The roots of the process lie in  ancient Rome. The tecnique of micro mosaic is well known also as filato minute mosaic, and requires the spinning of the Tiles that composes the mosaic, producing Tiles that are much more smaller and thinner compared to the ones used for the classic mosaics
This limited eyewear collection by Dolce&Gabbana is handmade and each model is a  real masterpiece.

 To recreate the floral composition in mosaic- petals , leaves pistils, were developed over thirty different filato design, with different types of flowers : romantic red pansies, snow White plumeria,delicate hues of the pink gerberas,liliac of forget-me-notes.

The designer of the new collection is Charlotte  Ronson . Born in London and moved to New York, made her first debut with Vogue Eyewear at New York Fashion week Runway SS2014 last september  

 

 

Charlotte was inspired by Eva to create the new collection which is very femenine and sophisticated

Eva said : " I think sunglasses are another way to accessorize and express your nature. I like these sunglasses, they have beautiful details and are a real piece of Art "
